Ohio Governor Ted Strickland discusses the $400 million that the state received for passenger rail start up service on the proposed 3C Corridor. In the impromptu interview in the halls of the statehouse, Governor Strickland denounces those he calls “cheerleaders for failure,” and emphasizes how important this money is for Ohio and the state’s future.

This year Google did the unexpected and ran a Super Bowl ad at the beginning of the 4th Quarter. The commercial wasn’t funny and didn’t try to be. The commercial was easily the winner of most effective Super Bowl commercial even if it doesn’t win the popular votes.
The commercial was effective for both men and women, it illustrated perfectly the uses and benefits of their product (Google search engine), it clearly established their brand identity, and had an amazing authenticity that is rarely found in commercials…much less Super Bowl commercials.
The story line of ‘Parisian Love’ was very identifiable for most people through the common love storyline, and Google’s ability to work in natural and common questions along the way was brilliant. The commercial was also very clever to work in the spelling error of “louve” instead of “louvre.” Also clever was the natural integration of the auto-complete function of Google searches.

The second season of Taking the Stage kicked off this past Thursday on MTV. The reality show takes place at Cincinnati’s famous School for Creative & Performing Arts and follows around a select group of students looking to make it big. Produced by Cincinnatian and former 98 Degrees front man, Nick Lachey, Taking the Stage airs each Thursday at 11pm and is primarily set in historic Over-the-Rhine and Downtown.

Christmas flashmob hits Fountain Square
As part of Vineyard Community Church’s annual Christmas show this year they added a simple flashmob dance after their performance in Springdale. The flashmob dance followed the trend of previous Cincinnati flashmobs and overtook Fountain Square.
“Over 500 suburbanites trekked downtown to dance for two minutes,” said Brad Wise, Creative Director, Vineyard Community Church. “The cool thing was that a lot of them stuck around afterward and went out to eat and enjoy the city.”
